flower power times two

Hello!!! I am super excited about today's post because I get to share a mini photo shoot that I planned for my daughter and I. We found a perfect spot to take Isabella's first pictures with bluebonnets. The photo shoot was kind of a fail because she fell asleep when we got there so she was a bit cranky since we we woke her up. After taking many, and when I say many I mean over 100, we managed to get a few good shots of her.

Isabella and I wore contrasting flower printed dresses with bright colors to stand out in the field of beautiful bluebonnets. The dress that Isabella is wearing is perfect for a spring photo shoot or for Easter. My dress is also a great pick for Spring. It is a body con midi dress which was less than $15.00 at Ross. The dress itself is a statement piece so I kept accessories to a minimum. I brought out the bright orange on my lips, bracelet and wristlet. The white lace up heels gave this outfit an even more fresh look.

spring fling

What a beautiful day it was today!  This cute and casual outfit was perfect for an afternoon out with Isabella. The look is pretty simple so I had to add a pop of color! Ive been having this neon wired headband for a while and haven't worn  it. It wasn't until yesterday that my friend took a selfie on instagram with one on that inspired today's hairstyle (if your reading this you know who you are, i told you I was going to copy ;) lol). I clipped in my Lily hair extensions and created loose waves for extra volume.

I absolutely love this top! I did not need to add a necklace as it already has beading along the neckline. Since it is lace and see through, I wore a beige bandeau underneath. A white top looks fresh and is perfect for Spring paired with light washed denim. This pair is slightly ripped which is perfect for those who don't really like the intense destroyed denim trend. This was an old pair I purchased from H&M. I love the wash and fit so I wanted to give it a few small rips on each leg and one opening at the knee. This is something good to try if your tired of an old pair of plain jeans ;)

Thank you for reading!!!

striped skort

Hello!!!  Please excuse my almost one week absence from posting anything. I have been busy with a few things and it was raining over the weekend. Todays weather wasn't that great either. The suns out but it is super chilly and windy. Despite the cold, we headed out and took a few pictures of today's outfit...

This super cute skort has been waiting for me to take it out. I waited a while to wear it because I didn't feel like I had the right top for it. On a trip to the mall over the weekend I found this edgy sweater that I thought would look great paired with the skirt. How did I do? Do you like the outfit or how would you wear this skirt? I have many more ideas on how to style it and cannot wait to experiment with this beetlejuicy-referee-ish skort lol.

The heels have a loop on the back where a silver chain went through them. I am a big fan of gold so I decided to take 2 gold chains from some of my clutches and loop them around my ankle. Just a little imagination can turn out to give you a new item in your wardrobe. To keep the gold accessories theme going, I wore a chain ID necklace with matching earrings and stacked a few rings on my right hand.

Thank you so much for reading!

top 5 favorite spring beauty products

#1 eos shave cream

The number one favorite beauty product has to be this shaving cream by eos. Never in my life have I used a shaving cream. I never really felt like I needed one. I would just use water with my dove bar soap and felt happy with my shaving routine. However, I did notice my legs were just not as soft as they should be after a shave. Even after applying lotion I didn't feel them silky smooth so I searched for a shaving cream and found the perfect one! I love the smell and how smooth my legs are after using it. I totally recommend it.

#2 Mary Kay lip mask & balm

My husbands cousin sells Mary Kay which I am new to. She demonstrated the products and what really caught my attention were these 2 products for the lips. One is a lip mask which exfoliates your lips and the other is applied after to add moisture and softness. She gave me some to try it and after the lip mask I immediately felt my lips smoother. They felt even better after the balm. I have a bad habit at picking on my lips so if you are that type of person I'm sure you will love this. Even my husband tried it and liked it.

#3 Olay fresh effects
out of this swirled exfoliating scrub

This stuff really gets deep into your pores, leaves your face feeling refreshed and silky smooth. I was using an exfoliating cleaner from Aveeno and never really noticed a difference in my skin as I do with this product. I have less acne and my face looks much brighter and awake.

#4 Olay fresh effects dew over moisturizer

After I use the exfoliator above, I like to use this moisturizer to hydrate my face. Its cold and gooey which may add shine to your face but it will penetrate after a few minutes and sink in to your skin. After this moisturizer I go straight to my primer and foundation.

#5 Urban Decay makeup setting spray

The last item on my top 5 list is the all nighter setting spray for makeup. On hot spring/summer days your all sweaty and sticky so you want to make sure your makeup doesn't melt off. I use this after I finish my makeup and also throughout the day if I feel like I need to freshen up. I have used many setting sprays and they all seem to work the same but I personally prefer this brand. This spray came with a travel size which is what I always carry on my makeup bag now.
